Magali is a tech-lawyer specializing in all aspects of intellectual property, information technology (ICT) and data protection law.
She advises clients in IP, IT or Privacy related business transactions or on the implementation of new technologies and the legal implications thereof. Her practice also focuses on developing and setting out IP and innovation strategies for technology companies throughout their growth cycle, from start-up to large public companies. Whilst working for renewed Belgian and US start-ups as well as scale-ups as a legal support lawyer, Magali has gained invaluable insights into the business needs of a company.
Magali has also extensive experience in complex IP, IT and commercial litigation for different courts and tribunals, she assisted the Belgian Privacy Commission in its court proceedings against Facebook. Also, she co-authored a number of legislative proposals concerning the GDPR on the Belgian as well as European level. Today, she gives specialized trainings to become a certified DPO (Data Protection Officer) and is a certified DPO for a number of companies.
In addition, Magali is a member of the legal working party e-Health of the Cabinet of the minister for public healthcare, Maggie De Block. This Working Party advices the minister on the different legal aspects relating to the e-Health Plan.
Magali obtained a post-academic certification in “Life Sciences and Biomedical Technologies”.
