Mark is Director of the Global Health and Life Sciences Practice at SAS – he joined SAS in 2005 and now leads a senior team working for SAS’ healthcare and life sciences industry and organizations. For the last years, Mark has been focusing on the use of the impact of digital health and “real world data” in the converging healthcare ecosystem. He applies SAS high-performance analytics to generate new insights and improve patient outcomes. His team is bringing SAS’ new HLS solutions to market and is constantly looking for innovation by identifying customer needs. He talks regularly at conferences and to customers at all levels. He is also interested to foster data standards and enable the industry to share and reuse patient data to find new cures and for the benefit of mankind.
Prior to joining SAS, Mark worked in the biotech industry as a bioinformatics scientist and studied at the KU Leuven, Belgium and at Stanford University, USA, and holds a PhD and Master in Bioscience Engineering.
