Stefan Seghers started his career as corporate controller at the Daikin EMEAA Headquarters in Ostend. He quickly broadened his knowledge going through various functions in various sectors, from Business Analytics at Adecco (search & selection) to Sales Director at Andres (fashion).
In 2009 he was bitten by the digital virus and started specialising in e-commerce. Stefan moved to Paris to optimize the e-commerce processes for Amazon France after which Amazon asked him to become project manager during the launch of Amazon Italy, quickly followed by Amazon Spain. Coming back to Belgium, Stefan focused on the omni-channel strategy for Alpro and negotiated joint business plans with the top European food retailers. Food e-retail is the newest wave in e-commerce in which Stefan developed expert knowledge years ahead of most professionals.
As a hobby he promotes the online sales of authentic boardgames. Following an omni-channel strategy he opened up his own brick and mortar stores in Ghent and Antwerp to differentiate his online business from existing online pure plays. Today, he still remains chairman of a non-profit company aiming to bring family and friends together for authentic moments while playing a boardgame, no batteries or internet allowed.
Finally Roularta attracted his attention, where the challenge is to innovate the core and diversify into new business domains. Stefan stays true to his leadership principles, one of which is to “invent and simplify”. Stefan now leads innovation, data and digital at Roularta and ensures it becomes a data-driven streamlined company while remaining true to its DNA and strong brands.
